Gerard Hameline was born i n France and is French and U.S citizen. After completing his studies at Paris University ENPC film school, he started his cinematographer's life. He became an expert in directing tactical action training films for the French Army, on the ground, as well as in the air. Then Gerard went to work for five years in Africa and in the Far East. where he did the well known documentary DRAGON OF KOMODO.
Leaving the jungle behind him, Gerard Hameline became a well-known Director of Photography, collaborating on hundreds of TV commercials with directors such as Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Adrian Lyne, Jean-Jacques Annaud, as well as on movies with director Edouard Molinaro :

Gerard Hameline started his own company GERARD HAMELINE PRODUCTIONS in New York City wearing the hat of Director-Cameraman and Producer. He was named by the magazine ADVERTISING AGE as "one of the top ten T.V. commercial directors in the U.S.A."
Gerard received numerous awards for his work at the Clios, the Houston Film Festival, The London TV commercials Film Festival and at The Festival international du Film Publicitaire (Cannes-France). In addition to directing TV commercials, Gerard Hameline entered the world of directing episodic television such as : HIGHLANDER / CONAN THE ADVENTURER / THE RAVEN / THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD / LARGO WINCH.
